Technical and creative translation
Do you have an important translation project and are you looking for a reliable professional who won't let you down? Then you can count on me and my experience.
I believe in quality and work well done above all else
First of all, you should know that I never accept projects I don’t feel qualified for. Honesty is paramount for me and I would never risk damaging my professional credibility for money. I also believe in quality and work well done above all else.
I’m a self-demanding, meticulous and perfectionist translator. Although perfection in translation is impossible to achieve, I make sure my work gets as close to it as possible. If you entrust your projects to me, they will be carried out to the highest standards of quality and punctuality.
Secondly, you should know that I’m always here for you at the other end of the phone, or just an email away (my preferred method of communication!). I try to ensure that communication is smooth, straightforward and timely. Although I work alone in my office, I like to think that I’m part of a team and, in the event of unforeseen circumstances, I’m here to provide support. I assume responsibility, take the initiative and do my best to offer solutions. For me, my clients are my priority, so I make sure to look after them as well as I can.

Technical translation: precision in specialised manuals and documents
Instruction manuals, user manuals, guidelines for use, assembly instructions, security protocols, operational procedures, datasheets, IT and software localisation, user interfaces, technical specifications, product catalogues, and so on.
As you know, these documents often contain a large amount of sector-specific terminology or jargon. Furthermore, this content is objective and must be accurately transferred from one language to another, leaving no room for interpretation. And not only should these translations remain faithful to the original meaning, but the terminology must also be precise. Therefore, thoroughness, accuracy and consistency are essential in these projects.
My work in this area involves first familiarising myself with the sector, its terminology and the target audience, and then researching and translating using exact equivalents. Having a client-approved glossary and access to a subject-matter expert in the event of queries is also of great help in optimising the translation process and the quality of the final result.
Creative translation: capture the essence of your message
Websites, advertising material (ads, brochures, social media), marketing campaigns, travel and tourism, dissemination articles, corporate communications, product and service descriptions, virtual learning courses, client presentations, and so on.
Unlike technical translation, whose aim is the objective transfer of information, the goal of creative translation is to evoke in the target audience the same reaction and emotions as the original message. It is therefore a transfer of impact rather than linguistic messages between two different languages and cultures.
Creative translation is ‘freer’, allowing the imagination to fly (to a greater or lesser extent depending on the project of course!). With creative translation, what is sought is not so much a faithful reproduction of the original text, but rather its effect, so it’s not unusual for information to be added, rearranged or even deleted.
My task here is to adapt the purpose, style and tone of the original message, taking into account Spanish or Galician cultural aspects, in order to convey the initial idea as naturally as possible to the target audience. So, if you need a translation for advertising, commercial or dissemination purposes and you want it to be as impactful as an original creation, you’ve come to the right place.
Post-editing and revision
The demand for post-editing services is on the increase. Many companies and translation agencies use automatic translation internally or offer it as a service to their clients. I won’t deny that well-trained neural engines can offer quite good results for post-editing or that production times are shorter in comparison to a translation done from scratch.
However, I’m not the person to come to if your aim is to save costs by using post-editing where it’s not feasible or by equating it to a revision. That said, I’m otherwise happy to take on post-editing projects where you not only will receive a human-quality text, but also will speed up your projects and win large clients.
In accordance with standard ISO 17100, all translation services must include, as a minimum, a translation first and then a revision by someone other than the translator. If you need someone to analyse your translation to ensure that it’s appropriate for the intended purpose, to cross-check the source and target texts and to suggest relevant corrections, I’m here to help. I can also proofread the spelling, grammar and style of any content you want to publish in Spanish or Galician.
